Who we are

Who we are

It is a citizen initiative based in Mexico that seeks to make visible the problem of violence suffered by citizens currently demonstrating throughout Colombia.

Since April 28, 2021, an important sector of the Colombian population, particularly young people, has mobilized in demonstrations that have resulted in 3,405 cases of police violence, 43 homicides and 47 victims of aggression or ocular mutilation.

Our objective is to contribute to the medical expenses of people who, in the exercise of their right to protest, have had their eyes injured or mutilated.

We will hold two artistic and cultural activities with the participation of artists from the local scene in Mexico City who have expressed their solidarity with the cause.  On Saturday, June 5, there will be a bike ride and an open-air meeting. On Sunday, June 13, from the Casa Chicha Cultural Center in the Roma neighborhood, there will be an audiovisual show and a collective knitting action that will be broadcasted on FB Live.

We will be raising funds through donations to the account of our ally MasterPeace Mexico. All the resources will be used for necessary treatments to alleviate the physical effects suffered by victims of ocular aggression or mutilation.

Colombia te veo is a citizen initiative supported by the international organization MasterPeace Mexico, the platform Me muevo por Colombia, Casa Chicha and Radio Nopal.
